Nam O is a coastal village in Da Nang with a rich tradition of producing authentic fish sauce, and they are one of the oldest and most famous fish sauce producers in the world.
Working together with the local government in Da Nang, the Catalyzing City Resilience Solutions program will work with the fish sauce industry in Nam O, made up of smaller fish sauce businesses, to rethink their business model, supporting the Nam O community to face multiple resilience challenges.
The Da Nang SME Resilience Profile follows the traditional fish sauce industry in Nam O coastal village as they adapt to environmental, economic, and demographic changes. Recognized as a cultural heritage, the city is sustainably conserving and promoting the Nam O fish sauce craft and product.
In Da Nang, Resilient Cities Network is running the Catalyzing City Resilience Solutions program with support from the Citi Foundation to help the local economy recover from the Covid-19 pandemic. This recovery will catalyze urban resilience by empowering and strengthening a selection of critical small and medium enterprise (SMEs) to develop locally relevant solutions.
