The World Ocean Summit is an annual global event bringing together the widest cross-section of the ocean community. The summit will steer progress by addressing the greatest challenges facing the ocean: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
- Day one focused on blue finance and ocean science and data.
- Day two and three, plenary sessions and networking breaks, focused on solutions to tackle the challenges of climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss. Sessions will focus on how ocean-based industries can minimize their impact on the ocean, as well as nature-based solutions for ocean restoration. The featured industries are shipping, blue food, plastics, energy and tourism.
- Day two will also see the launch of “cities and the ocean” and day three launches the “Investment hub” where investors seek to address investment challenges for innovation in shipping, aquaculture, wave and tidal energy, and plastics reduction.
