Cities Powering Energy Resilience

The Urban PowerXChange will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, August 5-8, marking the first time 11 cities engaged in energy resilience work will come together since the Urban Power program launched in 2022. The knowledge exchange will be an opportunity for cities to share their challenges, successes and build common ground to solve problems together into the future.

Host city Cape Town has made significant progress in energy resilience, focusing on ending energy poverty for residents of informal communities, making it an inspiring destination for learning and collaboration.

The convening comes at a strategic moment, as the first cohort of Urban Power partner cities prepare to accelerate their efforts over these past two years and launch a portfolio of investment-ready energy resilience projects through R-Cities’ Resilient Community Impact Funds portal.
