Tel Aviv-Yafo
Tel Aviv-Yafo’s Resilience Journey
Tel Aviv-Yafo is the commercial and cultural center of Israel. It is also home to numerous strategic facilities, including the IDF headquarters. A coastal city grappling with extreme heat, Tel Aviv-Yafo also faces the task of supporting the estimated 60,000 refugees and foreign workers who reside in the city.
The Resilience and Social Equality Authority in Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality was established in July 2019, to deliver on the city’s vision to strengthen its values of democracy, equality, and justice. The Authority works to enhance gender equality and social equality in the city, while collaborating with city units and with organizations in the public sector, private sector, and civil society.
The Resilience and Social Equality Authority is also responsible for managing and leading the city’s relations and partnerships with local authorities in Israel, while sharing municipal knowledge and building shared initiatives aimed at strengthening the public sector.
