Over 240 residents are helping shape local action on climate, flooding and heat resilience in Higher Folds.

Residents from across the estate are helping shape local action to build awareness and prepare for climate challenges:
Educational sessions on flood safety, household cooling and evacuation planning are helping residents protect themselves and their neighbours during extreme events.
Local efforts are being linked with the Northern Network of community hubs to enable capacity building and peer exchanges.
Creative sessions with the Turnpike Gallery invite residents to celebrate a more resilient and connected community.
To build a picture of each community, the Resilience for Communities (R4C) program used risk mapping, open-data sources, expert interviews, community surveys and focus groups. This assessment used the Climate Resilience Measurement for Communities (CRMC) tool to assess community resilience to extreme heat and flooding - helping to identify priorities and design solutions.
